Join us in giving back to the Community!
Updated: Sep 2
We all have our ways to contribute. At C'era Una Volta, we strive to give back to the community as much as possible. Here are a few examples:
One way we give back is through our participation in Dig Deep Farms. The
Alameda County Deputy Sheriff's Activities League created Dig Deep Farms is an organization that grows and distributes food to Alameda communities. C'era Una Volta weekly sends 500 meals and donates a different amount each week.
Another way we give back to our community is by participating in Alameda Meals on Wheels' Dine and Donate events. We feature a special dish and for every purchase of that item, a portion of the revenue is donated to Alameda Meals on Wheels.
One way you can help give back is by consciously reducing food waste. A great opportunity to learn how to do this is by participating in SWEET's StopWaste Environmental Educator Training Program.
The program is 8 weeks long starting in September and ending in November.
This program is mostly online and will teach you about the problems of food waste and how to reduce food waste at home and in your community.
This class won't just teach you how to deal with food waste. In addition, this class will sharpen your skills as a community leader!
The online application is now open and it closes August 13th at 5 PM.
To take part in this class, you must either live or work in Alameda County.
There are a number of ways people can give back. It doesn't have to be a grand gesture or large donation. It all starts at home. Something as simple as reducing food waste is a great way to start. At C'era Una Volta, we give back by limiting our own food waste and donating meals and funds to our partnering non-profit organizations.
